This is a collection of songs that I wrote on my Tenori-On back in 2008, when I lived in San Francisco. At the time it was a new and fun and exciting music device, and I bought one right away as soon as they came out in the US. For me personally it was very inspiring to use and the songs poured out.
I've always thought that the tools you use to write music heavily influence the end result, and nowhere is this more evident for me than with the Tenori-On. It is a very simple and fun instrument that lets you pick up and write quick musical sketches with no expectations or creative intimidation. The built-in sounds evoke bloopy mid-90's IDM, the 16x16 grid sequencer keeps the songs simple and fun. I think you can hear that in the playfully pretty songs collected here.
